Hobby Gaming: Vehicle Scale - military science fiction miniatures

I was doing a little bit of work with some vehicles, and decided to take some scale comparison shots.

The baseline item is the Rhino APC from GW.    Other vehicles include several 1/43 scale die cast vehicles, an armorcast vehicle, Dust Tactics walkers, an Academy 1/48 scale Merkava, and two Meng "World War Toons" Soviet tanks.

Here's the Rhino, to start us off - I have also included some tactical SMs, and my "Command Land Raider" in the pic - just for fun (Got a great discount on a LR model with a missing weapons sprue at a "flea market" event at a local shop).

1/43 Humber Mk IV from Eaglemoss.

1/43 Sd. Kfz. 234/2 Puma  from Eaglemoss

1/43 Fuchs from Schuco.

This one really has a bit of presence - it stands up well next to the "chunky" GW vehicles, and I can see using it as an APC for "heroic" 28mm/32mm minis.

A Meng "World War Toons" T-34 with a GW hatch added.    Although a bit small, the "deformed" look appeals to the "campy" type of Ork army I like to model.

Meng "World War Toons" again, this one a
KV-2, also with some GW bits added.

I really like the way that the Meng models go together quickly and easily.   Along with durability, that is an important element of a good "gaming model".

Here we have one of the American walker tanks from Dust Tactics.

And one of the German walker tanks from Dust Tactics. These are beautiful models, but seem a bit fragile for gaming.
This one is the Wasp MBT from Armorcast.
It also holds up well next to the GW models.

This is a 1/48 scale Merkava from Academy.  It was recommended as a good Predator proxy.  I have already added a few GW bitz to help it fit in a bit.

Hope you found that helpful...
